Do any Canadians on here use a freight (mail/package) forwarding service from the US? If you do is it worth it or does the cost of shipping from them pretty much equal what the shop would offer anyway?

landlord did not send me the lease until today. i signed it and have done everything except pay the prorated rent. they wont give me access to the apartment until i pay. however, the amount they're asking for is based off the full rental amount and not based on what should be my portion. i dont know what my portion will exactly be, the housing people haven't told me. emailed the housing people, i get an autoresponse "hey we're closed today! we'll respond next business day (monday) (day after ur supposed to move)." this is funny to me, bc landlord had to send the signed lease over to the housing people and housing people sent me a form earlier today, so like. someone *was* working.

Today I met a wonderful woman in a grocery store. She first offered for me to scan my rewards card for her groceries as well (giving me extra points for free basically, which I declined) and then, when I commented on an item in her cart (joking about wishing I had seen it before checking out), she insisted she give one of them to me. I tried to decline this as well and she put it into my cart for me.

She was so sweet and kind. I hope one day the world is full of way more people like her. She made my day so much brighter!

hello friend. i’ll answer your question honestly. yes i am employed and no i don’t have kids. being 31 doesn’t mean i automatically have to disengage from things that matter to me, including how i am being presented or treated online.

to clarify: i didn’t mean to revisit this situation at all. i took a break from tumblr to reset and when i came back i started posting as usual. yesterday i made a general post about wanting new content for a favorite character and discussing the upcoming season of jjk — something that clearly wasn’t directed at anyone. you’re welcome to read the post yourself and see whether it came off as hostile in any way. despite that someone chose to interpret it as a personal attack as they also happened to talk about something similar and immediately began vagueposting. this is the same person who has emphasized that not everything is said with malicious intent — yet they’re not extending that same generosity when interpreting others’ comments. this is also the same person who has been replicating my approach to content and identity on this app. regardless, i decided to make peace with the latter and move on, it is beyond my control.

my frustration comes from trying to focus on my own space but finding myself being pulled into this nonsense. i genuinely took that break to move on quietly but even that’s not respected.

again — i am not interested in conflict. i just want the space to enjoy my corner again without being mischaracterized or provoked.

fun fact i actually use gentle/unscented body products so all of my body wash/soaps/lotions/etc are not (or are negligibly) fragranced! my derm put the fear of god into me abt how it can irritate your skin, and since switching years ago i just haven't gone back! i like that it makes whatever fragrance i'm wearing smell cleaner and less muddied too. (my shampoo/conditioner/other hair product is fragranced so that still has a scent, so does my deodorant, and my laundry detergent. w that many scents happening on a regular basis i feel like there's rly no need for scented body cleansers imho.)
